Dedication to Dana Reeves
this morning, i rolled out of bed and went about my usual routine. used the bathroom, poured myself a glass of water, and sat in front of my computer to read the news... i was so sad to read about Dana Reeves' passing... my first thought was, "...so soon!!" then my next thought was, "...she was so young!!" to think that she was only 44 and spent approximately 10 of those years caring for the love of her life... then i thought about how she was truly an angel; somehow, this made her passing easier...
so, today, i dedicated my workout to Dana Reeves... her passing made me appreciate life and my health a lot more than usual... i felt like today, i needed to seize the day (because who really knows what tomorrow brings!?) and so, i completed a half sprint triathlon!
6 miles cycling
0.25 miles swimming
1.5 miles running
it felt really good; i was reminded of how much i miss and adore swimming. there is a feeling i get after i swim that is incomparable to the feeling after cycling and running... i think part of it is related to the ways in which i use my body during a swim, the lack of impact on my joints, and the way the water feels on my skin... so amazing!
right now i am listening to Ani DiFranco's "32 Flavors"- it is making me think about Dana. she certainly was "...32 flavors and thensome..."
