it's getting closer!

it's been a while since i've posted- mainly as a result of my long work hours over the past 3-4 weeks. but, this morning, i bought my air ticket to chicago! i am so psyched. and yesterday- i bought a new bike helmet. all continues forward with the training... finding more and more time every week to train continues to be a challenge...

by the way- saw a great movie this week- Crossing Arizona. don't miss it. it was really good. (it's about Mexicans crossing the Mexican-U.S. border.)

this Monday- i will not be at work. instead, i will be marching in solidarity with undocumented immigrants in protest of recent proposed federal legislation to criminalize undocumented folks as well as those who help them with their basic needs... go to the following web site for more information: nclrights.org i urge all who may read this to DO SOMETHING- whether it is contact your senators, participate in community actions, and/or talk about this issue with friends, family, co-workers, members of your congregation, etc.... by the way- there have been numerous raids on places where undocumented immigrants congregate in the Mission (the Latino neighborhood here in San Francisco) as well as in Oakland- and they have been arrested and detained. this is very scary... if we don't DO SOMETHING, we will be next...
